About the event

Backyard chicken starter workshop plus hen pickup day. Guests will reserve their hens in advance, attend a beginner class on housing, feeding, and care. Next, guests will pick up their hens with a printed guide and optional starter supplies. The hens are 1 1/2 years old (at the peak of their production - egg collecting to be expected immediately). Breeds are: Tetra Brown, Rhode Island Red, American Bresse and Australorps (first come first pick breeds)


STARTER PACKAGE: 3 hens plus class and care guide = $120

HOMESTEAD PACKAGE: 6 hens plus class, guide, non-gmo soy-free Layer feed = $360

CLASS ONLY: for anyone not ready to buy yet = $25 per person (18 & under $5, 4 & under free)

Additional hens purchase for $40 each

*BRING A CONTAINER OR CARDBOARD BOX WITH HOLES TO TAKE HENS HOME
