Keeping you in touch with what is happening on the farm

Ready to restart & move to a new location

12/16/2022

Jupiter Creamery is in search of a new location to restart the Nourishing Food For Thought non-profit educational farm.  Our mission is the same,  we would like to put our farming educational practices to the test on new land.  These farming practices aim to improve land through our rotation grazing practices and multi species animal synergy. We would like to bring back tours, workshops, volunteers & expand our nutritional food education programs for all ages.
We are looking for individuals to assist in our search. The goal is to find/identify potential locations, which entails reaching out to private landowners, or to public land or state preserve land administrators.
Requirements for the ideal location are:
·         Land needs to be a minimum of ten acres.
·         Accessible and close to the public.
·         We are looking for cleared or mostly cleared, high, dry land.
·         Power, water, or buildings are not necessary.
·         Lease period of at least one year.

We need YOUR help! Do you know of any available space, or anyone with land that fits our requirements? We would like to start this venture immediately. Send an email to Suzie at info@NourishingFoodForThought.org to introduce us to the land owner you know or to join our effort.
We prefer to stay near Jupiter, but we are open to alternatives so long as they meet our requirements, especially proximity and ease of access to the public.  As we restart we prefer an arrangement in exchange for helping to get the land owner an agricultural exemption decrease in taxes but we are open to negotiation.
This land owner will also be helping keep much needed micro-dairy, animal husbandry, agricultural and real farm to table education available to all income levels in Palm Beach County.

Meet the new girl!

She is a Brown Swiss dairy breed. She is a young cow that had a calf early this past Fall. She is currently in milk and is pregnant and due in August. She is transitioning well to her new home and family. The switch from a grain to grass diet is going smoothly. When I first met her, she was calm and shy. Since coming to the farm, she has shown herself to be curious and bold, already a leader, and a bit of a trouble maker. She has walked over a few fences and encouraged the herd to give our community garden a haircut, but she loves attention. She enjoys being brushed and is patient with new people trying to milk her.

Join one of the activities going on at the farm and get to see this new girl!

January 2021
Keeping you in touch with what is happening on the farm

New Year, New Look!

You may have noticed some changes on our website and social media pages. Founder and Executive Director Suzie Dudas noticed that interest in her for-profit dairy business, Jupiter Creamery, was more concentrated on the educational aspect of running a farm than on the sale of dairy products themselves. So, in 2018, she incorporated Nourishing Food for Thought as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. While Jupiter Creamery still exists today all profits are donated to Nourishing Food for Thought, with its mission of educating and empowering people to take an active role in the food they consume, has become our primary focus. With this in mind, you will start to see some changes in the way we brand our events, workshops, and products. But don’t fret! We are still located on the same property in Jupiter Farms and we are still operated by the same loving and devoted staff and volunteers. We hope we will have your continued support as we grow and reach for greater heights through our nonprofit arm.
